We're not trying to trade him just to get rid of him, we're trying to trade him to get something decent.

No, we'd add to Karlsson for McDavid. Not saying that's Karlsson's value, just that we have no reason to trade our best player right now.
honestly depends on direction imo... if you're building around Mark Stone and Karlsson then go all in, but if you are looking to rebuild around Chabot, Brown, White, Batherson, Ceci, Stone then I would move Karlsson for the most you can get and build on the young core
