Very solid goalie. Numbers essentially equal to Holtby's, although Grubauer hasn't played half a season, yet, so there's no way to compare their endurance... still, that's not an issue if Edmonton just needs a backup or a 1b to lighten the load.
Of course, if Edmonton is on a tear this year, and Washington stumbles (they did give up sixteen million dollars worth of guys this summer, and add... nobody) I could maybe see Holtby waiving his NTC to join another perennial contender without the salary cap issues. And if Washington can't get by without Alzner, Shattenkirk, Williams, Schmidt and Johansson, I think Edmonton probably has enough can't miss prospects to help them get back into the picture next year, but I agree that it's a tough sell to restock another team for a promising backup goalie. Holtby's playoff status, until '17, were about the best ever, so he could be a good pickup. But since he's not realistically available, yeah, someone's going to get a very good goalie in Grubauer.
