Heinola played a grand total of 0 NHL games this season. He’s not gonna be more than a bottom pair guy. He’s a reclamation project at this point, the same as Podkolzin. Pettersson isn’t NHL ready right now but will be in a year or two
Hoglander’s xGA/60 was quite a bit better than Ehlers this season. In the last 4 seasons Hoglander’s has been better twice and Ehlers has been better twice. They’re similar defensively, with Hoglander arguably better
Soucy had a better xGA/60 than Samberg while playing more minutes and against tougher competition, while also being a lot more physical. Neither are that good offensively. Soucy is the better player right now
Heinola made the team out of training camp and got injured. Podkolzin has been healthy for 2 seasons and didn't make the team. They are very different situations.
Lmao we must not be talking about the same Nils Hoglander. Point breakdown: Ehlers - Hoglander
2021-2022: PTS 55 - 18, GP 62 - 60
2022 - 2023: PTS 38 - 9, GP 45 - 25
2023 - 2024: PTS 61 - 32, GP 82 - 80
Your evaluation of Ehlers vs Hoglander isn't remotely close.
This past season, Samberg doubled Soucy in games played, and tripled him in points, despite averaging 100 less seconds per game. Soucy was slightly better defensively and gets credit for playing more minutes and harder matchups. I give the edge to Soucy, but it's close. Where Samberg is more valuable is that he is 25 while Soucy is 29. Samberg still has room to grow and 4 more years to age than Soucy.
Tbh you completely missed the mark on every player comparison.
