I'm leaning towards no from the Sharks. They're overloaded on forwards, particularly in their bottom six, and it's going to be tough as is for guys like Graf, Bordeleau, Gushchin, etc to get NHL minutes.

I think Utah has filled their defense up nicely and don't want the Jets overpaid problem.

Personally think they should keep Ehlers, sign him to $7M×7.

I know he's rough defensively but if they got Laine back they should sign Barrie to a league minimum deal to feed him pucks on the powerplay.. 😁

What would the cost be for Granlund and Kostin?

Kostin would be pretty cheap, but I think they value Granlund pretty highly. He was voted the team's MVP last year and provided quite a bit of leadership. I wouldn't be surprised if he's moved at the TDL, but I expect at a minimum they want to wait to see if Couture is able to come back before trading any centers. The team did add a number of guys who could fill the leadership role so that part of his value's slightly diminished, but I don't see them moving him (until the TDL) unless it's an overpay. I expect that the price for him right now is probably in the first round pick range.

The logjam's also in the bottom six and Granny might still be the 1C on this team next year so we're not throwing Macklin to the wolves right away.

Not a good enough return for Laine with that much retention. Pass.
