If Stamkos were willing to take 3 years x $5 million aav then he would’ve already signed with TBL by now.

If that’s the case then Brisebois should be ashamed of himself. Blatant disrespect.

I thought so as well, just seen somewhere that Tampa only offered or could offer $3 million and he was asking for $5 million over 2/3 years. Which maybe is a little more believable with the tax benefits of Tampa as I kind of thought that was a little low too. But realistically he can't shoot for the moon too much if he wants to play on a legit contender because most of them are heavily cap strapped right now.

Yeah I wasn't sure if you guys would be interested or not, just picked one of the few teams with lots of cap space and could use some scoring. Could see DET being interested, maybe ANH, Utah, Seattle. I just find it hard that someone isn't interested in taking a flier on him, he still scored 24 goals last year playing with a sports hernia. Almost sounds like there's a mutual interest to find a trade because he wants a more prominent role so he should at least be motivated.

With all the baggage he brings, I think a lot of teams would rather just shop in free agency or look elsewhere. Bad history of getting run out of town by all the teams he plays for

I've heard they've been shopping Jeannot and probably some others as well. They only have around $5.3 million in projected cap space so I don't think its as much disrespect as all these big deals catching up with them cap wise.

If TBL is seriously presenting an off to Stamkos with an aav of $3 million, like the previous commenter stated, that is blatant disrespect, no matter their cap situation. You explain to a guy like him that they need to move a few pieces in order to give him a reasonable offer before you tell him $3 million aav. Stamkos would have every right to feel slighted.

I agree with you on all that, just don’t think there’s many guys out there that can make an impact like Kane and feel like one of those teams with cap space that strike out will take a chance on a pretty fair contract whether the Oilers only get a mid to late round draft pick to entice teams more. I mean Mangiapane got a 2nd albeit from WSH, so I think he is movable.

Oh I completely agree with you. I just see Stammer as a gamer and prioritizing another chance at a Cup over money. Plus he really cashed in playing in career in Tampa with no taxes. With all the contenders cap strapped, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him take a deal like this for another couple kicks at the can.
