No interest in trading Zegras and also not retaining that much on Gibson

I could be wrong but I don't see Zegras as untouchable for the ducks. Having Gauthier, Carlsson and Mctavish down the middle and possibly snagging a guy like Demidov or Sennecke this year would leave Zegras on the outs in my opinion. I understand why no retention on Gibson but I think I threw in enough sweeteners for it.

Gauthier is a winger and Zegras probably goes there as well

I could see us running more for a ‘top 9’ style with 3 lines primed for offense and then your more traditional 4th line too and then Z would play center

I get that, that just tends to get expensive when you have so much talent like the ducks top of the lineup does. I could definitely see them keeping him but I think I could also see Verbeek looking to the future and making a tough decision now.

Whether he's untouchable or not isn't relevant, his acquisition cost is going to be as high as if someone tries to acquire Raymond.
