To me, I’d think Boston would be a place where he’d consider it. Locks in his slot pre free agency and isn’t changing his payment structure.

With his buyout, he’d have to make $3M AAV over the next 3 years to break even and the distribution of money would be different.

would buffalo be willing to eat 4.5 per year? maybe he'd agree to be traded but no one is biting on anything less than 50% retention.

personally i'd give him a call after he's bought out. try and do a 2 year deal for 4ish M
