Description
My 32: OILERS:

How do you run it back and change the outcome. Truthfully, not that much needs to change. You need to bring guys back, so re-sign, and I do think there could be an add on D (Andersson, Roy, Walker, etc). But, this team was a game short, and that is all. They will go back to the SCF imo. McDavid is too good. But questions loom after this coming season with guys like Draisaitl... This team that I built could easily return to the cup, and probably win it this time. Andersson is a tough trade, but also imagine a Matt Roy instead too instead of Andersson. I also think Bourgault will play in the bottom 6, him or Lavoie.

They got to buy out Jack Campbell. He only provides negative value to the team's play and their cap situation. Buying him out saves EDM a lot of money this year, and allows them to operate the cap and make additions. I think it is a no-brainer. Skinner was good enough to win the cup, he played well, he did his job. Tough goal to give up to Reinhart, but he was brilliant in the key moments in every other series it felt like.

I think they can bring back Janmark and Brown. They are role players and yes in the playoffs they did perform, but they do play in the season before hand and I guess Janmark did his job in the regular season, but Brown was a ghost in the season, and came alive when it mattered most. I can see them taking similar deals. I do not expect it to be more than 2.5M, but for this team, EDM can't do that. A $1M raise seems good honestly. Might even be giving them too much

Andersson trade is a wild one, doubt it happens in real-life, but the Oilers are giving up A LOT of futures for that guy. He would have to waive his NTC, but who knows maybe he would lol. He is the ideal guy, if they don't do this, I would still dump Ceci with a pick and go after Sean Walker or Matt Roy.

Foegele is gonna get a nice raise, I can see like a 4M, 2 year deal happen. Could get more on the open market maybe, maybe more term honestly.

- 2025 1st round pick (EDM) is top 3 protected, If EDM has 1,2, or 3rd overall, the pick transfers to 2026 1st round pick (EDM) with no protection.

We do not see many trades between Edmonton and Calgary, this one is probably crazy to throw out there. This is why we make mock trades, because we al love to get judged and criticized! Not gonna sit here and tell you this trade happens per se, but it seems like this would be the cost, knowing Edmonton's cap situation and Andersson's value. It is expensive, like very expensive, but for good reason. Ceci did not have a bad playoffs, but would be seen as a cap casualty in EDM. All these picks are what Calgary wants as assets to help them rebuild and use to trade. Edmonton needs the one piece coming back in Andersson. A very good Dman, on a GREAT AAV. I think this could happen in theory, but practice maybe not. however I wonder if Edmonton actually tries this, but this is what I would do. If this trade were to not happen, I would look to the FA market but still would offload Ceci with a 2nd or 3rd to someone.

Easiest no from the Flames ever

Add Holloway, Broberg, and another first then maybe its considered otherwise not a chance.

2025 1st, 2024 2nd, 2026 3rd*, Ceci, + Holloway Broberg and another 1st? LOL, you're dreaming, no team would ever give up that much for someone. That is pure insanity. Maybe they would trade Holloway instead of the 3rd. But it is really a 1st, and 2 2nds. Your offer is crazy, Edmonton hangs up the phone, laughs, and goes to another team for a trade or FA.

That's perfectly fine with the Flames lmao

We would have no interest in making you guys better without ponying up the right amount of assets especially considering your firsts are essentially high seconds, no team especially your rival is doing you any favors here and your original offer isn't even close to good value.

Not to mention Ceci is a capdump so you have to pay for us to take him as well.

If im giving up by most cost effective top 2 dman (especially to the Oilers) I would want two firsts and two prospects and then whatever else is required for the Flames to take Ceci's contract.

I would rather trade Andersson for a 1st in the 10-20 range + 2 x 2nds, and without taking on a cap dump.

Maybe I'm off on that, but that's what Chychrun brought back.

Jakob Chychrun got a 1st, and 2 2nds (one of them is in 2026), this is exactly what an Andersson trade would get you. Mind you, Chychrun is as good or better, and had 3 years left with $4.6M. You are certainly not getting 2 1st round picks and 2 prospects. Mike Matheson wouldn't get you that either. I agree that for Ceci, there should be an additional pick like a 3rd included, and then the deal would get done most likely. Im not even an Oilers fan but like based on market and guys with similar contracts and production, this is what it should be. If Montreal called New Jersey and asked for 2025 1st and 2026 1st, with Holtz and Nolan Foote, they would laugh at us and hang up. Calgary can maybe go get this exact trade from another team, however you won't find a team typically that sucks and are willing to trade their 1st, and 2 2nds (which would be high), expect contenders to trade for them and those picks are gonna be where they will be.

The main difference being that Chychrun requested a trade from Arizona and Andersson hasn’t.

The flames have no need to make this trade unless it’s something that blows our expectations out of the water and there is always going to be an Oilers tax for any flames players in a trade.

Conroy isn’t going to make them better without extracting every single drop of value.

And Mike Matheson is in a tier below Chychrun and Andersson so he shouldn’t even be named here.

If I can get the same deal from a different team then for sure im picking that team over the Oilers but it is specifically because it is them in your offer that I am saying I would want more.

I get it, fair point. I know you guys are massive rivals so it would have to make sense. Maybe EDM goes after Chychrun with one year left. A deal like that could work maybe.
