No reason for Anaheim to move from 31 to 23

Why is Anaheim doing this exactly?

Curious, why are we pushing back on this?

1. This is good value to move up from 31 to 23
2. This spreads out ANA’s picks nicely (we’re bunched up at 31 and 35, as well as 58 and 66)
3. We have a 7 picks in the first 3 rounds, while TOR has only the one. This concept makes sense for both teams

Hard Pass on Timothy at that price but open to trading up with the leafs/sharks vs. ducks

Because there’s really no difference in players in that range

If we move up, it need to be into the teens

23rd overall was Gabe Perreault last year, Jimmy Snuggerud the year before, Wyatt Johnston in ‘21, Foerster in ‘20. You really don’t think there’s a difference in this range? And in terms of cost, the value here is favorable to ANA if anyone

I’m talking about the player tiers this year

I don’t know anything about how tiers have looked in years past and whether it’s any different than it was the past 4 years where 23 yielded an awesome prospect. So maybe this year is just different, but I’d be kinda surprised if that were true.

Of course nobody will disagree that the teens would be better. But let’s say there are 14 NA guys we think would be great additions, and another 4 int’l. There’s a very good chance one or more of them are available at 23. No two team’s boards look the same and people fall every year

Kind of mixed emotions cause once Stolberg was left i was hoping the leafs would take him, hoping for Emery or Elick now
