After watching Nurse in the playoffs I still wouldn’t want him for $6m per season, so the retention isn’t enough.

Awful is thinking anybody is paying anything for Nurse. Oilers could retain 50% and there isn't a single team that would even give up a 7th for him.

He played for a team that lost the most games by one goal in the league, and to anyone who actually watched the montreal play it was pretty well known that the defense wasnt the reason they finished bottom 5, Matheson was 9th in points and 9th in goals by defensemen and 3rd in TOI in the entire league while getting paid about half from player's with similar production/TOI
