Lol, you mean the one that had nearly 400 NHL Games played already when he was traded to the penguins.... what a stretch at comparison.
Yes, that's a different story.
Del Gaizo has 9 NHL games, Parssinen has 89.
you can have a 6th rounder for both lol.
All I'm saying is draft position is a meaningless argument, multiple years after a player is drafted. Would you be more receptive if it was former 1st rounder Ozzie Weisblatt instead of former 7th rounder Pärssinen? You shouldn't be, because Pärssinen is the better player, with significantly higher NHL upside.
I don't necessarily think Pärssinen and Del Gaizo add up to a 2nd round pick either, at the moment. Ironically, Pärssinen himself would have been worth more than that a year ago, before he took a step backwards in his development under Brunette. I do see
@AK50's logic, in making the Pens the offer. PIT is an old team with too many holes, that isn't ready to teardown yet. With next to nothing in the pipeline that can step into the lineup, this gives them a bit of a youth injection for now. Not worth a 2nd to you? Fair. It's still a significant improvement over Poulin and St Ivany, or whoever is next in line for a callup from Wilkes-Barre.
