Description
Edler is more of a one day signing so he can retire a Canuck .... he won't play

And the Ehlers trade is more then fair value as I said before .... argue with me if you must I won't change my opinion on this

What is with people constantly trading LD to the Sens?

Step 1 of making a trade: offer something your counterpart actually wants

Jets need quality not quantity. I don't even think we have the roster spaces for all of those players.

Oh my mistake I didn't know a 1 goal player in 30 games was so important to the sens .... my mistake I mean those 3 points and -4 will be missed badly by Ottawa.... how stupid can I be

Can you add anymore people to the WPG trade? Maybe a zamboni driver or a couple from the ice crew? Throw in some Uncle Tetsu or Japadogs and it's close!

I find it funny when someone proposes a trade while also trashing the player they want to acquire. Why trade for him if he's crap?

Never said McEwen was important to the Sens, or that he was a valuable point scorer. McEwen was brought in for one reason, and one reason only: take those fighting penalties so that Brady spends less time in the box and more time on the ice. He's an NHL/AHL tweener, but is decent in the AHL and can help protect the youth. In the NHL, he fights when needed and gets little ice time.

Let's be honest here, this a trade for NHL/AHL tweeners.

My issue, as I mentioned, there lack of need at LD:

NHL: Sanderson, Chabot, Chychrun, Brannstrom, (Kleven)
AHL: (Kleven), Sebrango, Hamara, Donovan, (Heatherington, likely resigning)

Nordberg and Andonovski will likely join the AHL ranks this year or next.

So where does Brisebois fit? The ECHL? Are they gonna play him in the AHL instead of their prospects that they want to develop? This is why the Sens are looking to dump Chychrun and Brannstrom. There's a log jam.

So no, this trade makes no sense for the Sens. Neither player involved is any good, but McEwen provides a modicum more value to the Sens than an LD that would likely be playing for their ECHL affiliate.

Want McEwen? Offer a player/prospect at literally any orher position. If they have any slight hint of value, Sens probably accept. Or Canucks can pick him up on waivers. At least then Sens are rid of his salary and get a contract slot back, which is likely more valuable than Brisebois.
