The only thing I would say here is that if TK did sign an extension, which they could work out at the time of the trade, I would say he is a greater value than Chabot at this current moment.

I don't know, winger vs defender? They're pretty even value so I'd lean top dman with 50ish point banked than a winger just under 1ppg. The public is down on Chabot but gms would kill for a top 4 dman in his prime

In a vacuum I would agree, but the way your team is set up, I think TK would be more valuable. Chabot has been a question mark the last couple years and TK has been as solid as it gets. Additionally, your D corps could afford to lose Chabot with Sanderson, Chych, Zub, Brannstrom, Thomson, JBD, etc.

However, your entire top 9 would be at the minimum top 5 in the league adding TK in my opinion. You could drop Greig for now to the 3rd line where he would face lesser competition, and your top 6 could be:

Tkachuk-Stutzle-TK
Giroux-Pinto-Batherson

Getting G back on the left side would be huge for you guys, or even swap TK and Batherson and get G and TK playing together again.
