Schneider would be a lot to give up for McGroarty but I think it’s close to being fair. I wonder about Rangers 2024 1st, Kakko, and maybe Ryan Lindgrens rights. Winnipeg is deep on the wings so I’m not sure if they’d want Othmann. I expect Drury to be all over this though

Schneider played 1/2 the playoffs at 2RD. He can likely take the spot this year. Won’t be wasting his talent

That’s a stretch. Trouba is only there for 2 more years and that’s if they don’t trade him or buy him out. They would obviously keep their youth over Trouba. This is why it’s a reach. He avg 17:30 /game while Trouba was 21:00/, fox was 23:00/. Imagine thinking they can’t make a simple swap of 1-3 mins with Trouba. Fun fact, they have that much more toi(not a lot in the big picture) because of special teams. Even strength they are all within a min of each other and Schneider is ranked 4th on the team for that. KAM actually plays the most even strength time of all NYR D. This isn’t like a F playing 12:30 on the 3rd line instead of 22:30 with PP1 time. Just isn’t the same, nor is it remotely close. It’s a big reach. So even if this continues, he’s playing behind fox(top 5 D in the league) and Trouba (the captain of the team) but getting comparable mins to those guys 5v5. He’s not being wasted in anyway

Don't have to sell me on Schneider. I have been trying to get him on this site for years. The point is that if Trouba is still there, Schneider will not get the playing time he is showing he deserves. Yes, Trouba's contract is up in two years but who's to say he will not be resigned?

Trade isnt a value problem. Id trade Lindgren for Rutger. Schneider is now above Trouba after this past year and playoffs. If Trouba isnt traded he's on NYR bottom pair. There is zero depth on NYR RD beyond that. Also Kupari has zero value at the moment.

Under 16 minutes a game in the regular season. Sorry but those are 3rd pairing minutes. The reason he got more minutes in the playoffs was because Trouba and Fox had injuries. That is why as long Trouba is around, Schneider will not get more minutes.
