Description
In my other armchair-gm team, we agreed in comments on this price for Kessel, what do you think? This is probably the last year for SJS to make good result, 18/19 season must start some kind of rebuild because the core is getting old, so does this trade for Kessel make sense (i mean if we trade our old guns, can we build younger team around Kessel, Couture and maybe Pavelski?

As a Pens fan, I'd accept your trade with a conditional pick added. 5 stars, not 3.

I think the value is good, it helps address the current 3rd/4th center deficiency and fixes the RD/LD balance. I'd give you a 5 but the trade leave a large hole in offense.

I'd put O'Regan in Donskoi spot and Donskoi in Sorensen spot. O'Regan had great numbers in AHL last season and deserves a chance in main roster.

Yeah I know, i had also possibility with trading Hertl + different prospect instead of Tierney and Meier if it would be interesting for you, but Hertl has knee troubles... poor guy, when he is healthy and is on top 6, he can be 50+ points and 25+ goals player (in 82 matches, less he plays, worse is his point production... if he is on top 6, it doesn´t fix your bottom 6 also)

I didn´t really mind about roster changes, i only took Labanc, Simek, Bollig and Meier up from AHL just to have the some idea of lines, there are more guys who deserve the chance (Grosenick, Roy, Bergman, Heed, Ryan, Carpenter come to my mind)

As a Pens fan, I say no to this. This trade doesn't make us better in the now, which is what we are playing for. The first round pick is probably in the 20s range, which usually doesn't pan out for 2-3 seasons at least. Our top 6 in D is set, so Braun is not needed, and Tierny and Meier are not top 6, which is what we would need in return to make this trade. I would say no to this if I were GMJR. Pens have to play to win in the next 2-3 years.

I think that you´re right about the value of the pick, if we don´t have Kessel in SJS, i don´t believe we will make playoffs (in general without adding any 60+ points player, not Kessel specificaly) so the pick has bigger value and when Kessel is in SJS our chances rise and the value of the pick drops... It was similar with getting Martin Jones, who was traded for 1st round pick + sth else and in his performance in playoffs made the pick number 29 overall

But still this trade is never gonna happen, I´m just bored without hockey games grin
jkorchok35 a aimé ceci.
