I don't think it would hurt the team but Hagelin is a real nice asset for the third line. His speed can tear through any other 3rd line int he league and he is more than capable of being top 6 if needed and I don't think Stajan is as capable.

Their scoring stats are identical. Stajan is 850,000 cheaper. And you want the Flames to add a pick? Let's stop thinking that 6 goal, 4m, Hagelin is valuable.

I actually don't mind this trade. Stajan could be somewhat decent 3rd line center and you get out of Hagelin's deal. I know he's fast blah blah but 4 million for speed doesn't add up.
Michael Grabner is a speedster as well and scores goals, is an effective penalty killer and makes less than half of hagelin. Not saying Hagelin isn't good but he makes too much for his skill set.
Archibald is waiting in the wings with speed to burn at a much cheaper price.
Pens could use the cap space to resign Hornqvist and Rust.
