This is just crazy and would never happen but it was fun. This is obviously them trading everyone of value for the most part. The rebuild would likely only be a few years.

This deal saves them the dead cap which would be an issue in years 2 and 3. I'm those years Byram, Quinn and JJ Peterka will all need extensions, plus others like Levi and Johnson.
Mangiapane's money will be off the books.
Andersson is still signed at a great 4.55M.

That's a pretty good looking core for quite a few years to come. I'm sure there will be a time where Power and/or Byram overtake Andersson in the future as well.

BUF

I assumed Benson, JJP, Quinn and Levi are on the untouchable list. I went with I thought was next best with Kulich, but could be Ostlund if they think he is the better player. I don't know enough about Wahlberg to consider him.
Made some room on their defense as well. Samuelsson seems to struggle to stay healthy but when he is, he is quite effective. Joker just gets pushed out with the addition of Andersson. He is young and could be part of the team for a good number of years.
Krebs is a bit of a project. Hoping bringing him home will help him a bit. If not he could still develop into a good third line centre which is always important as well.
First is 11th overall. Can get a really good young player with that pick.

Ottawa, since they don't have much in the prospect pool right now, gets three picks plus a stud RHD.

I'm assuming one of Chabot or Chychrun gets traded. I thought about doing a 3 way trade involving Chychrun, but I really don't know who would be the best fit for him right now.

Joseph is for cap purposes plus I read somewhere that they are looking to move him again. Not sure of his value after having a career year.

NYR doesn't have the enough need for Blake Coleman to give up a first and one of their top NHL prospects just to move trouba. If anything they just make the Detroit deal straight up and save a 1st and Othmann.

I get that they'd have to add value to move Trouba, but if that's the end goal I just feel like there is a better deal out there for them.

Coleman is a good player but he's not worth Othmann + a 1st. Unless you're taking all of Trouba's salary this return is a non-starter for the Rangers.
