I know this is gonna get a lot of people wondering what i'm talking about, but i actually think it's an okay trade ... Galchenyuk would get 60+ points on the Island, especially with Tavares on a line.

Leddy is a top 4 d, beauvillier is a potential top 6 center. Galchenyuk can put up point per game totals when healthy. He's also at a good deal for the next 3 years. Would you trade a first liner for a potential second liner and a second pairing d? If you have a brain then probably not. Put galchy with tavares and they both get 30+ goals and 65/70+ points.

Leddy is arguably a top-2 defensemen. His HERO chart is impeccable, along with other advanced analytics. Galchenyuk will thrive when he plays on a line with a top center (Tavares). Seeing as how NYI is plausibly loosing deHaan to FA next season, trading Leddy would leave them with Hickey, Boychuck, Pullock, Mayfield. Not exactly something to write home about.

IF the lose Tavares to FA, they basically screwed themselves with this deal.
