It has been 3 full seasons since Kapanen was drafted. He has 1 Nhl point in 17 games. Lets settle down.

Kapenen was ready for the NHL last year but there wasn't room for him. He also put up near PPg in the AHL as a 20 year old. Only like 17 players have done that and most of them went on to be impactful NHL 1st/2nd liners.

Don't agree with the JVR signing. Really think he doesn't fit the Babcock style. That playoff series was the nail in the coffin for me, JVR was so lazy. Never backchecks. Rather use his cap towards antoeht defender and or Gardiner

. There are at least 7 players drafted above Kapanen who are wish they had NHL Kapanen credentials. Admitting it's getting close for Kapanen to start to show at the NHL level. But looking at your lineup, I don't think JVR is resigned, It might be Kapanen that takes his spot (thought not as effectively as a goal scorer). Rychel and Leivo...iffy NHLers at best. Bracco? Will he be ready in a year? Hoping that Carrick plays well enough this year to earn a bigger contract. Tommy Lilgedren, I just don't see him being NHL ready in a year. Older Swedish UFAs who are playing with the Marlins this year Rosen and Borgstrom might be the NHL ready in 2018,
You're right about Gardiner, if he continues his growth....and it took him awhile, he may be unaffordable to the the Leafs.
Your comment about the Leafs scoring is correct. They went with a balanced scoring lineup last year. And your comment about the defence is correct too. Some good Dmen, and some competent Dmen might be all that's needed.
