Ok that a 5 bucks will get you a cup of coffee. Every time someone brings up Puckpedia it's about that damn draft pick chart and they reference like its law and has to be followed. How does the owner of the Caps benefit from buying the site?

Analytics team / scouting team for starters. Then the people that run the site are well versed in cap / contacts. Makes a lot of sense. Feels like other teams completely overlooked the importance of this site.

I can independently be incredibly happy for the creators of CapFriendly and f***ing p***ed that the franchise made a nonsense move to buy and shut down something I enjoy using, especially since the most sensical theory behind the move is they're bad at their jobs.

And I can also independently not blame Caps fans for the actions of the franchise/owner. But I'm still going to hate your team, deal with it.

Most franchises have a team of people that monitor sites like that. I also have a hard time believing that teams overlook this site when each team and the league have to sign off on it.
