This is actually good for San Jose what are you even on?

Legit top 2 RHD, someone who will crack their top 6 and offer trade bait(especially with retention), and Macklin's brother.
For the 14th, a 4th next season, and a 6th or 7th defensmen on our team.

Honestly this is bad for Vancouver. We don't gain anything besides the cap space to try and go for Tanny or Pecse

Don’t think SJ needs to overpay for a middle pairing Dman whose value is significantly inflated by playing alongside and getting carried by one of the best Dmen in the league. Hronek isn’t bad but the copium people are huffing as if he’s some makar adjacent player is wild.

Mikheyev is a pure cap dump. He sucks booty cheeks and is overpaid by 4 mill. That waters down the value. He costs a 2nd to dump if we’re generous.

Celebrini is a 6th rounder who had a couple points in the ncaa last year. It would be cool to have the brothers but if Vancouvers gonna pretend his value is more than like a 5th rounder hard pass.

Hronek will cost Vancouver probably around 7-8 and Mikheyev costs 4.75. The sharks are doing the Canucks a huge cap favor taking Mikheyev and to some extent hronek too. AND Vancouver gets the rookie defenseman that arguably played the best on the Sharks roster last year.

On top of that, whatever the actual value of these players is, the sharks (the worst team in hockey) who need high-end draft picks and prospects should not be moving that 1st rounder period.

But yeah the sharks totally win this trade…

Hronek put up similar numbers the previous 2 seasons in Detroit before being traded. And nobody has been huffing like he’s a Makar level player

Mikheyev was bad this year yes, but he was coming off of ACL surgery and still put up 30+ points and was great defensively. He’s a cap dump right now but could easily bounce back

Hronek fell off hard in the second half and playoffs. He'd be a top pair guy on SJ, but on a good team should probably be a second pair guy. And certainly not worth the 7-8m he wants.

I doubt Mikheyev can even crack the Sharks' top 6. He's injury prone and has no hands. Furthermore, SJ can't retain anything on him; their 3 slots are already filled (Karlsson, Burns, Hertl). So this is a straight cap dump of negative trade value. Tell you what, the Habs will give you Gallagher for him.

Celebrini's just here to unite him with his brother. In theory. He's probably unlikely to even make the NHL.

This isn't a good enough package to make SJ consider moving the 14, where they can get one of Eiserman, Brandsegg-Nygard, Helenius, Jiricek, Sennecke, or several others.

Emberson's a solid bottom pair guy they like.
