Tristan Jarry is the walking epitome of league average. While he would be an upgrade over what Devil fans saw last year, part of me wonders if a team would take him for free with his contract

Change Eller and 3rd to Pettersson and I think it would be a conversation worth having. Would probably then come down to a conversation on cap and what his next contract looked like.

Jarry had a .903 SV% 2.91 GAA with a 2.6 GSAx (29th among goalies w/ at least 20 GP for context). He's also making 5.3M for 4 years on a contract that will end when he's 33.
He's very clearly a below average NHL goalie with a bad contract. NJD trading the 10th OV in a deep draft for him when there are two elite goalies on the market (Markstrom and Ullmark) is wild to me.
If NJD is that desperate PIT should be paying them to take him on.

… this is the first year in his career he had below a .909. Also it kind of makes sense because the Penguins couldn’t score. Jarry is getting a bad rap because the Pens suck
