Why on earth would Florida add cap in Bennett trade?

Panthers have the best and deepest D IN THE LEAGUE . They also have a lot of cap space dedicated to D already so pretty sure panthers not interested in CHYCRUN. And he needs to be resigned . Not to mention panthers will be tight to the cap taking on joseph and chycrun at 7 mil and getting rid of benett at 4.4 makes no sense

Kulikov, OEL etc are free agents and none are better than Chychrun . Chychrun is a Florida native and will be in Florida

Bennett doesn't make sense for OTT, they have Stutzle/Norris/Pinto lined up at C for a long time. Bennett has also struggled in a Canadian market before.

Bennett provides toughness and veteran presence that the Sens need

If you're trading Chych then it should be for assets that they use to acquire a goalie, not adding a luxury 3C. Or another RD.

I think any team would love to have Bennett but OTT needs to look at their roster and their needs, not add players that don't fit the current makeup of the team.

Plus I highly doubt Norris moves to the wing considering he was signed to be the #2C behind Stutzle.

If he wants to play in Florida all he has to do is wait a year . Panthers can resign OEL AND KULIKOV to reasonable deals and go for the cup again next year . How much will it cost to resign CHYCRUN 6.5 MILL ?? For a team tight to the cap and a contender thats a big deal. Also trading Benett leaves a big hole upfront for the panthers . Like i said trade makes no sense
