New Jersey:
Having been very vocal about shopping their first round pick for a Goalie, this trade allows them to keep a first round pick (be it further down the pick order) and acquire a Goalie that they could chose to keep or include in a trade with their first for a higher caliber Goalie.
All in all this costs the Devils a 4th and pick position in the first round. What they get is a young goalie who had a down year after being an animal with a .931
Carolina
They have been fairly adamant about how they dont think they can afford Necas going forward, but they want a player who can compete at minimum in return. Well in this trade they get that in Rossi, move up the pick order to where they could get a second player that could play as soon as this year (on the lower lines) and they get a 4th in this years draft.
Minnesota
By shipping out a Goalie that there is simply no room for now that they resigned Fluery, and moving on from Rossi (which is insane to me personally given his last season and he is 22!?!). They are able to acquire a Top 6 Winger that could potentially move into Center or atleast fight for it. They also lost a pick this year in the 4th round but get one back in 2026.
