Why Sissons is it worth that much? I'm not sure about that cost.

Thats a huge amount for an expiring UFA, and then playing C Savoie at LW and Carrier a LW at RW.

For less than that amount theres much better options: Laughton at 3mil can play LW or C if Savoie falters and probably had for Rosen or Kulich and a 4th (at most) or Jokiharju and a 3rd.

And I think its too redundant if you have Carrier, Trenin, and Jeannot

(and while its 25-26 roster, you're trading 2024-25 commodities? (For instance, if Kulich is just a 13th forward in 25-26 hes probably not got it or trading 2024 picks or Krebs making just 1mil and still just a 4C)

I genuinely think Sissons would be the perfect 3C for the Sabres, but I also genuinely think he's worth that much to Nashville given their center depth is super shallow. Colt in a vacuum probably isn't worth that, but he just seems so critical to that Nashville lineup. Only thing that could change here is if they make a trade or sign an FA at C. I think the sabres can do better on a value standpoint, but I wouldn't hate this deal

Sissons is NSH's most reliable shutdown forward and he gets deployed in a lot of high-pressure must-win face-off scenarios (has not had a single season below a 54% FO win rate since his sophomore season back in 15-16). On top of being a strong shutdown forward, he also has some offensive upside and routinely puts up 25-35 points. He has been deployed everywhere in NSH's lineup historically and has performed well while doing so.



He is 100% worth that much to NSH, and based on the fact that NSH's center depth is as bad as it is, NSH likely doesn't do this deal. NSH would need to have several other deals lined up in order to replace Sissons and I just don't see it happening. With McDonagh leaving, I wouldn't be surprised if Sissons is an alternate captain next year.
