Drury would probably want a player more ready to contribute, possibly in the top six right away, someone like Alexander Holtz who, while not setting the league on fire, has plenty of time to develop into a good top six player. Drury would argue that Kakko just needs a change of scenery and, as a former 2nd overall pick, justifies a one for one for a Holtz.

It might not be too far out to think that Kakko could put up better numbers with a fresh start on a line with Hughes and Bratt. In any case, he is defensively responsible and can even things out on a line with those two flashy players.

NJ wouldn't move Holtz for Kakko.

the last time NYR made a trade with NJ was in 2018 and NYR was eliminated from the playoffs....doubt these 2 teams make a deal

If we are putting Kakko in top-6, we’d be in big trouble.

Also Bratt plays almost exclusively on right side. Meier prefers right side. So we would be looking for LW if anything.
