This is a crazy way to build a 20-man roster while underpaying Liljegren and adding guys that likely won't make it to the market (Montour). You cant field and NHL team with 18 rostered skaters and no cap room for callups

Ok, if Montour’s getting 8m and Lilly 2.5m, then like I said in the description, trade Kampf and Jarnkrok, and send down Reaves that’s the easiest solution. Accounting for the 200k for Reaves in the minors, that frees up 5.65m, not including the 700k in space already. Subtract around 2.3m for Cowan and Minten and a third kid (I’d like to see either Grebyonkin or Quillan, but would probably be Abruzzese)

3 for Talbot is wild. He’s 36, coming off a year where it was very clear he was running out of steam down the stretch. His last contract was $1m + $1m perf bonus, I think he’ll be lucky to come close to $2m

Well until he has a contract, Montour’s going to be a FA July 1. That doesn’t mean he’s going to sign with the Leafs, but to completely ignore him as a possibility would be considered poor planning for every team

2. I had mentioned it in the description, there can be trades to free up cap space. What you might not have known though is that Leafs management has soured on Lilly; as an RFA tho, I think that will be the contract he’s offered, if he takes it great, if not he’ll most likely be qualified and traded

3. You are allowed to call up players and go over the cap on an emergency basis if someone gets hurt
