Description
5 million hit for 2 years with 3rd round pick may not be enough but Lee scored 20 last year, serviceable secondary scoring, leader on and off the ice. Captain under Trotz. Could be good for their young forwards.

LA fills the goalie void and trade disgruntled Kaliyev. LA has plenty of forward prospects who are NHL ready. Varly is very old and contract isnt great but he's still got it. 3rd rounder thrown in. Maybe not enough as well or even possible.

Signing Tevo, basically just looking for best chemistry option for top 6 without making a trade for one. Save the assets.

Matt Roy is an amazing Dman. Probably will get more from another team in FA.

Engvall and Mayfield buried in AHL. Engvall somewhat serviceable but not a top 6 winger at all. Healthy Mayfield somewhat solid but he declined quick. Rather see a better option for his role now.

Hopefully more progression from Holmstrom, Bolduc, and Wahlstrom.

    Are the Islanders actually interested in moving Varlamov? It seems he had a really good season, and even took over the starting role at points over a struggling Sorokin last season.

    A little concerned about 3 more years on his contract though, as he's already 36. Every year for a goalie in their late 30's is like a time bomb, you just never know when one injury ends their career.

    I don't dislike the idea of acquiring Varlamov, but he has a full NTC this season, and I can't imagine him wanting to go anywhere.

    I would be but based on the contract, Lou isn't.
