Buffalo doesn’t consider this nonsense

Wow, a left d that we don't need, and two soft undersized forwards that don't help us. Plus a first in a draft over two years away. What a generous offer for our only power forward that scores, a guy that grew up a Sabres fan a few hours away, and a guy on the short list to be captain. I feel pretty safe saying Vancouver doesn't have anything that they would reasonably offer that the Sabres would accept. And this offer is actually horrible.

Call the trade whatever (it's not good for Buffalo) but if you're gonna call Hoglander soft you can just say you don't know anything about him

It's more that the Sabres don't need quantity for quality. They already have an abundance of young forwards both in the NHL and among their prospects. More than anything they need some defensively responsible forwards for the bottom 6, and those types of players won't cost them Tuch to acquire. They could also probably use a better 2nd pairing RD in place of Joker, but they also need Power and Byram to hit their strides for that to matter.
