I could get on board with this.. I’d swap JVR for Duclair or Duchene since they’re projected to cost mid 4mil range for a reasonable length of time but I like the goalie moves and Zadorov

NSH is not considering that horrible offer in a terrible draft class.

Highly doubt Askarov is the goalie from NSH who gets moved if any of them get moved. NSH sees Askarov as the future and a lot is riding on the contract talks with Saros. It is the assumption at this point that Askarov will step into the NHL next year in NSH, it's more a matter of determining if Saros will be there as well. Since Saros can't sign any contract until July 1st, I don't think this will happen from NSH's end.

I’ve seen multiple reports recently from reputable reporters that they are leaning towards extending Saros and trading Askarov to fill out their prospect pool to extend their window until Saros is done… that’s where these are coming from

I believe that is probably right…all the teams selling goalies have reasons to wait until after July 1st, so my guess is the whole goalie carousel turns after the draft.

That said, if Trotz is looking to extend Saros, flip Askorov for other pieces, I’m sure plenty of deals such as this one would be available.

Being a terrible draft class is the only reason they would have a chance to move into top-10. Trotz tried, with a bigger offer than this, and failed.

What sources have you heard saying that? I ask because that is not what is being said by local reporters in NSH. Everything Trotz has indicated to them at this point is that he intends to run a Saros/Askarov tandem unless Saros doesn't resign (there is some speculation that term might be an issue). NSH has indicated that they intend to function like BOS is right now with Swayman/Ullmark and like Rinne/Saros before them. Where they will split time and as Saros ages the workload shifts toward Askarov until Askarov becomes the starter.

If either of the goalies get moved, NSH reporters have indicated it is more likely to be Saros and then NSH would bring in someone like Andersen or resign Lankinen and accelerate the transition to Askarov as the starter.

100% the goalie carousel will turn on that day. There are a lot of goalies who will become available and a lot of teams looking for upgrades.

NSH has indicated that they intend to function like BOS is right now with Swayman/Ullmark and like Rinne/Saros before them. They will likely split time and as Saros ages the workload shifts toward Askarov until Askarov becomes the starter. This is purely because they see Askarov as more certain in the org. Saros could be flipped for a major piece right now (e.g. Marner, Necas, etc...) that would help the team now and in the future.

I think Marner would be good fit for Nashville. Not as sure about Necas.

I think the two goalie route is a good one (we’d like just one).

It might’ve been Lebrun yesterday on either a talk show or an article idk… you can hunt for it if you want but I was basing it off that.. I’ve seen it 2-3 more times in passing over the last 2 weeks
