If they can't trade Ullmark due to his 15 team NTL and say Swayman wants 8x8 and they're unwilling to give it to him they might as well recoup it back for arguably the best goalie prospect going right now in Askarov. Him and Ullmark tandem and then Askarov takes over. Throw in a 1st for Boston and it's actually not too bad imo

Who said they cant trade Ullmark? And why would 8x8 be too much for Swayman? And where did you get 8x8 from? Swayman is currently the pillar their whole team is built around lol

A lot of people are saying 7-9 so I split the difference at 8: (https://thehockeywriters.com/bruins-swayman-contract-whatever-he-wants/). Is he the pillar or is this just recency bias? Pretty sure it was Ullmark who won the Vezina and was the no1 for a majority of this past season. Yes, very strong playoffs this year but had "off nights" (more just back to earth numbers) even in them as well. 7-9M is a lot and he is not going to take a home team discount after how terrible the team treated him during arbitration last season.

My Ullmark take is that it sounds like he is going to exercise, as is his right, to decline a trade to anyone on his no trade list. So if you can't find a dance partner on his teams he could be traded to then what do you do? 13M into goaltending?
