Probably a fair deal for both sides but my guess is the Canes would be looking for a better roster players in return for Necas.

Also I would absolutely take the Trouba trade but I doubt the Rangers trade their captain after advancing to the ECF.

That ain't a fair deal, Canes pass. Maatta is a dump, Berggren is a bottom sixer, and the 1st is nice, but not enough

It has got to be pretty close. Maatta can slide into the bottom pair and play solid 3 pair minutes. Berggren is a cost controlled middle 6 winger who scored at nearly a 20 goals pace in his rookie year and a top 15 pick is pretty valuable. What else would it take in your opinion?

In Canesland they give bottom 6ers 8 year, $40M contracts.

I just can't figure out what the canes are going to want for necas. A first sure but a winger or maybe a Rd to replace pesce or Chatfield.

Only those that are 3rd overall picks with really promising upside

Rasmussen likely. I did Ras, Walman and a third and didn't get any negative feedback

There are cheaper 3rd pairing D men on the market, and Carolina are trying to bring Nikishin over, meaning Maatta would just be a body for the press box, the epitome of a cap dump. Berggren is a good 3rd line winger, bottom six guy. Like the player, not much value. I just don't see anything in Detroit that will make the Canes want to move from Necas. Carolina needs either a young center, or a top six replacement for Necas. So guys like Kasper are going to be what they look at, this isn't that. I'm not saying Necas is worth Kasper, I'm saying that's the kind of profile they'll be looking at

I’d be interested in that, but I doubt Ras is included in any trade packages after just re-signing.

Rangers trade Trouba for a 2nd without retention and a 1st with retention. Otherwise they’ll keep him for the final two years of the contract.

Lol sure thing. If you can find a team to take him at 8 mil without you giving a pick, you did well.

Yeeeahhhh. Very few thought that by that time, including KK and his agent considering they signed that deal lol.

Yes but at the same time if it means upgrading the roster then it has to be a possibility.

Yet he was a top 3 Hurricanes in chances created... almost like he's a good player! Stop

Damn really?! Almost makes you wonder why he's only two years into the deal and already heavily rumored for a buyout.

... Nevermind those late season healthy scratches.

You don't spark buyout talk for being a "Touch" overpaid.

He's a 30-40 point forward (Who doesn't really bring anything to the table outside that minimal offense) with a near $5M pricetag for the next 6 years, whose linemates played better away from him. He was getting healthy scratched at the end of the regular season and was a near non-factor in the playoffs.

He's an NHL player. He likely will (And should) get another contract if he gets bought out. He's just nothing special.
