That values Holtz less than what NJ should value him. I kind of view him as Jersey’s version of Lysell. He’s got enough upside that it isn’t worth trading him for what other teams will likely value him at. They only do it if they believe someone is appropriately valuing him

Fair enough. I just think the goalie market is barren right now, and Ullmark will generate somewhat of a bidding war between two or three teams. I think the Devils would rather have Ullmark on their team signed to an extension rather than Holtz next year. The 1st round pick is the starting point in any deal for Ullmark.

Could swap Holtz with DeBrusk to balance the lines. I just want Poitras and his playmaking ability surrounded by shooters.

A line with an average size of 5'11, 180lbs... that's the exact opposite of what we need. Poitras should be with guys who can create their own space and take shots.

Well the Bruins also need scoring. I don't think putting Frederic and Geekie on Poitras' line is ideal either.

I think Lysell gets a chance this year to give the team another forward on an ELC but I don't know where he fits in the lineup. He is not a fourth liner. Pastrnak is RW1. That leaves RW with either Coyle or Poitras. Coyle is a good two way forward but is not much of a playmaker.

I think the overall goal is to get Poitras into the top 6, but I don't think he has the ceiling to jump right in with Pasta. A 3rd line of Freddy- Coyle- Geekie would be big and with a decent balance of scoring and two way play. Sign a 1C to play between Pasta and Zacha, pair Marchy with Poitras and sign a scoring winger. Then when they want to play Lysell, move Pasta down to give Poitras some time with him and let Lysell prove himself on the top line. The issue with the Bs is scoring talent, so they'll slot in wherever they can once they're on the team.

I would love if they put Poitras and Marchand together. For some reason I don't think they would do that. Would I do that? Absolutely. That is also a small line with those two together though.

You’re half right here. There will be a bidding war but there won’t be a first round pick. If the teams that are bidding on Ullmark cannot trade away a first round pick, then there’s no first round pick available. I urge you to go look at the team pages on cap friendly for the likely destinations for Linus Ullmark. They don’t have the draft capital to offer that without completely emptying their draft assets.

If they wait until July 1st. Otherwise a lot do if we are including 2024 picks.

My guess is a second and a good prospect is the likely return from teams with good prospect depth. A first from teams without

If I were Boston, I’d actually prefer 2025 picks. I gave it some thought. 2025 picks can be traded again. I generally view draft picks as being easier to trade than prospects. The 2025 draft picks give Boston more options at the trade deadline in 2025 for whatever situation might arise.

The 2024 draft after about -22ish is supposedly leaner in terms of quality prospects with less differentiation between the 22-50 range. The Bruins have their 2025 first and don’t have a pick in 2024 until the 4th round.

My guess is they’d prefer
