Description
Very unrealistic but I had fun :)

I know trading another lottery pick is stupid, but we bring USA to Ottawa and they all stick together :)

Détails additionnels:
Anaheim gets their guy in Levshunov at #3, tho I have seen them take Parekh a couple times in mocks. Maybe they go for Lindstrom and hope Parekh is there at #7??

This Zegras trade would also mean management is looking to move on from Josh Norris.

Would this ever happen, no but it's for fun anyway.

Détails additionnels:
Let's give a little scenario here for fun. Brady asks Staios to make a move for his buddy in Zegras. He has ties to Sanderson, Pinto and Brady as their all playing at the IIHF tournament right now together, all in the same age group and all very very good young American players. I believe Zegras would be happy to continue to play in Ottawa, and extend here with this group.

Sens fans might be upset about moving yet another lottery pick, but it's not like Zegras is 30 years old and terrible, the dude is a highlight machine.

Would not the point of acquiring Z be to put him at center with Brady?

I'd do the trade, just curious on your deployment. Really is a shame Norris has hurt the same shoulder 3 times now.

Yeah he would def go up to play with Brady, didn't really put much thought into the lineups lol. Fixed it~ Super unfortunate about Norris, love the player too but I could see a world where they look to move on if possible.

Ottawa wouldn't make that deal ever. I think they'd do it with the Bos 1st, not 7th overall. Even if Zegras pans out, in 2 years he'll want a ton of money. Moving on from that 7th overall pick means you don't have that prospect to help on an ELC in the future. Any one of Parekh, Catton, Iginla, Yakemchuk, or Dickenson would just be too valuable to trade for a center coming off a serious injury, and a poor season, with only 2 years left on his deal. The Bos pick plus Jarventie.... I'd go there but anymore than that would be too risky. Our prospect cupboard just isn't deep enough to be able to take another swing like that. Maybe offer Norris straight up....

This wasn't meant to be realistic, it's just a fun little idea to bring in USA players to keep Brady happy.

Zegras was injured last year but he's already back playing with Team USA right now so obviously he's good to go. Our whole core in this case is like 24 years old, we're not as desperate for prospects as people seem, it's just ours blossomed quickly and made the team like Pinto, Ridly, Sanderson etc. We still have 3 picks in the top 40 and snagged Connelly, Emery and Surin who are all better prospects than Kleven/Jarventie imo so our prospect pool still gets a nice little injection of talent. Connelly and Surin would replace Joseph and Giroux, and Emery would replace one of the righties.

Salary cap is raising a lot too every season it seems like so I don't see why we wouldn't be able to afford to fit players etc.

Part of it would be because it's hard for Ottawa to attract top players. Plus cap rising or not, just means players ask for a bit more of the pie. You need guys really contributing on ELC's in order to compete. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in Z.... But the 7th overall pick would just be overkill.

Not wrong. Could just get Iginla at #7 potentially who would fit in so nicely with our group!

I love this shake up.

Zegras would be a fantastic addition, but I can't see the Ducks taking Jarventie for him. I'd imagine they'd try to sweeten the deal a little more.

I'd be sad to see Crooks go as I believe this may be the year he cracks the roster but you've got a decent move lined up.

I've always liked Vejmelka so that's a beauty trade!!

ANA bends over OTT and has their with with OTT, Zegras is not worth a top 15 pick OTT dont even consider this.

woudl nto even trade BoS 1st if it was 32nd for Zegras.

The whole point was to get Americans to make Brady happy lmao, not make perfect value trades 😂
