Marner will not waive to go to CBJ.
Leafs don't want a failed D man on a brutal contract and an even worse goalie contract. Leafs taking back as much money as they are getting rid of. And receiving nothing of value in return. Merz makes more than Soros and has a sub 900 save% and a ridiculous GAA lol Even if CBJ ate 50% of both contracts, I still wouldn't make this trade.

Probably would not have to worry about it. Marner is not going to waive his NMC to go to Columbus! Part of the reason a player negotiates for a NMC is that they would not want to go to certain places. Much like most stars, they are not lining up to go there (unless you are Gaudreau and look how that turned out LOL

I was ready to pull my hair out at first sight of this. A proposal or two like this started showing up every day right after the Leaves flamed out again: “Let’s dump Marner on….I know! Columbus!” Then it’s all about how Marner would never waive his clause to go there, all too easily forgetting that Columbus doesn’t want Toronto's trash in the first place.

But at least this one is more interesting and reasonable.
