Marner could improve on a new team, but he's not a goal scorer and for a team that's struggled to score trading one of the few guys who can put the puck into the net wouldn't be smart. They are also better served signing Guentzel (if they can) who has been a great fit and has a track record of scoring in the post-season. If they can add Marner after that then sure, but if they are dealing a core player to do so it should not be Aho (it won't be), Jarvis, or Svechnikov.

Yea I’m not completely opposed to like trading Necas for him or something, but I would worry about the cap room. Doubt we can sign Guentzel for 8-9 and turn around and pay Marner close to 11 easily. Feel like it’s more of a choice between one or the other, and I think Guentzel is better fits our needs.
