Odds are Markstrom is traded this summer

Okay, duly noted. Thanks for the input! My choice on Markstrom was because I had a hard time sussing out what kind of value he'd return as there seems to be some heavily split opinions around CF.

I can understand that. It's very hard to predict what a Markstrom trade will look like if it happens because of the uncertainty on whether Calgary would retain or not

As others have mentioned I expect Markstrom to be traded.

I also expect the Flames to go after a top 4 D. Either a UFA they can sign to a shorter term like Martinez, Brodie, or Dillon, or someone that's overpaid that they can flip at the TD like Orlov.

Look for Conroy to weaponize the cap, by either taking on bad contracts, retaining salary and flipping players, and/or looking for good young players that might get squeezed out of good teams(like Tomasino in NSH).

I also think that there's a good chance Mangiapane is traded in the offseason, and potentially one of Sharangovich and Kuzmenko. The Flames will again look to replace them with a player on a 1-3 year contract that can play with Hubby: Duchene, Duclair, Arvidsson, Henrique, and Tarasenko would be my candidates to a short term deal.
