I doubt Lindholm signs that, so it all breaks apart.

I'm trying to find one thing that Krebs excels at.

Cool. I'll probably have the Pens adding a mid-round pick in the next one.

Being able to play up and down the lineup while being much younger than the 4th liner you traded for

Although I understand the Buffalo-tax thing, here are the facts with Lindholm:

--he's presently deployed in a third-line center role on the 'Nucks, which is where he'd be on the Sabres
--he's had only two seasons above 64pts since Carolina traded him away, one of them was his first season with the Flames (27+51; 20:02 ATOI)
--his best season was two years ago (42+40; 19:57 ATOI)
--since then his production has dropped: 22+42 in 2022-23, 15+29 with CGY and VAN this past season
--his ice time has also dropped--18:39 in 2022-23, 19:42 combined CGY/VAN, but 17:42 after the trade to VAN
--he'll be 30 this December

Having said all that, I think he'll come in at $5.5-6M on his next contract. I went with the lower number, and I would go into that $6M area or higher, but on a three-year deal instead of four.

No. He can't play up and down the lineup as proven by the last 13 game where he was given a legit shot at 3C and came in at 1+2 with a minus-3 rating while being benched a number of times.

Krebs a 4C (possible, albeit slightly, bottom-six forward) who has trouble winning faceoffs. Accari wins faceoffs, is fast and is tough to play against.

You are using +/- and Donny meatballs benching a player that didn't call for it as an argument? The same coach that had Erik Johnson in the lineup way too long?

Krebs still produced more than Acciari. Krebs is also fast. Acciari isn't good or pens fans wouldn't be dumping him in almost every acgm post.

Krebs>Acciari

You mean the guy with 4 total goals last year and a whopping 20 goals in his entire 215 game career
pens only accept if they have something better to do with the cap space as Acciariis better at his role than whatever it is that krebs does

Noel Accari scored the same number of goals (4) as Krebs in 25 less games.

As for Granato, he's the same head coach that unleashed Tage...and Tuch..,and Skinner...and Cozens. Dahlin hit his highest point total two years ago and hit 20 goals last season. He guided Quinn to a 37 point rookie campaign and JJ to a 28 goal sophomore season.

Each and every one of those players has at least one attribute they excel at. Krebs? Nyet!

The 4 total goals and the 64 over 439 games is better? Or maybe the 7 total points last season are better than the 17 krebs had. Acciari is older, on the downswing, and produced less.

Krebs played with girgs and okposo most of the year. Not exactly offensively gifted. Still don't see where the value is in the trade. That's the real point is that you are making a bad trade

But he is actually skilled defensively and excels in his role? Hence the reason so many teams have used him in a bottom 6 role? What does krebs do well?

You're arguing the offensive merits of 4th-liners, which is exactly my point. Krebs is a 4th-liner who has more assists than Accari (in 25 more games.) However...the question still stands, name me one thing that Krebs excels at. For instance, Accari is very good on the dot (and he scored as many goals as Krebs in 25 less games *snicker, snicker*)

The value in the trade lies in a revamped fourth line that's pretty damn good. And I don't see how exchanging 4th-liners is a bad thing when the player I'm bringing in would be an immense boost (even better with Lindholm's prowess) to a faceoff percentage that ranks dead last (45.4%) over the last three seasons,

Point taken, although I'm not very fond of that approach from Adams. I'll pony on that a bit as well because I think Lindy will give him a shot somewhere in the lineup.

No winners. Lots of unproven pieces. Three rookies in the top 6 basically. Power is iffy and on a bad deal imo. Goalie position is a complete question mark.

Perhaps this team takes a step. But I think it’s pump the brakes time before we host a cup parade down Main Street drinking duffs sauce and host an after party at anchor bar.

Realistically looking at every quality team that makes real runs - there is not nearly enough veteran and quality depth on this team. If I was the gm - which is the premise of these exercises I would move multiple quality young pieces for established vets that can move this team over the line.
