Description
Idea is bring in youth from AHL and showcase some of Penguins "top" prospects. I think Yager has a good chance to show what he can do wouldn't shock me if he was initially with the Penguins him and Poulin battle for that last spot early in season. If Yager doesn't hold his own then AHL to probably WHL again. Poulin regardless of the 2 year deal this season makes or breaks him.
Wasn't going to sign a UFA but Debrusk could be an option for Pens not sure price range based on what seen on here.
Shuffling lines to try to find more stability in bottom 6.

It is going to be rough next year straight up.... some may argue changes don't do anything I think pens will be mid pack again with cap space and who they have. If youth is the option then dipping into AHL makes sense but also could be a reason as to why guys next year like Rakell Rust Elller Acciari could be trade bait at deadline.

Not sure if he fits Nashville? Maybe... but for a late 4th round pick reading reports that Smith would be more of an option for teams as he is in last year of deal IMO pens can get out of his contract no salary retained.

I think this is pretty close. I'm not sure that P.O. is worth $1.8m. I'd expect something in the $1.25m - $1.5m range. I like DeBrusk more than most. If he were to play with Sid, I think 30 goals wouldn't be impossible. Putting Poulin at the 4LW spot would be a disservice to him. I'd try moving him to 3C, dropping Eller to 4C, and sliding Ponomarev to 4LW. That 4th line becomes a shutdown line that Sully could deploy in defensive zone situations. I like Puusty, but I like the Bunting-Malkin-Rakell line more. An O'Connor-Poulin-Puustinen line would be a lot of fun. I think this would be a much different look for the bottom six, despite most of the same faces reappearing. I also think scratching Yager would be a waste. No matter where he plays, he just needs to play. So if it's not with this team, send him down to AHL, or he can go back to the WHL.

I like how you left some space for a potential splash deal at the deadline. Lots to work with here, good work.

I do like Debrusk more than Smith all around - but I feel like they're pretty similar. So personally I'd probably just try Smith on the top line instead of giving out a bigger deal to Debrusk.

With that much cap space maybe you could add to Debrusks salary and go after Guentzel/Reinhart? Or sign a 2LD? Idk. It's not a bad team though
