No I didn't. You said he isn't even worth a first in three years. The guy is 37th in the league with 5 on 5 production. I'm not confused. I know he isn't McDavid. More like a J.T. Miller. But given the problem NYR has developing forwards I take that any day. I rather keep my young 50-60 point player than giving him away. So in short you are the one with a issue not me.

it's not just "a first in 3 years" it's basically a bottom of the league 1st in 3 years.
hell the team almost finished as low as 7th this year, you really think there is going to be anything in 3?

My point isn't that they would trade him for this. It was that the penguins would never do this, and that it's not some impossible idea that the NYR would trade him.
They would for the right offer. Because 50 point guys aren't "unmovable," they just need the right offer.

It isn't just Laffy and his 50-60 points. Look what playing with Laffy and Trocheck did for Panarin. Panarin-Chytil and Laffy started the year great too, until Chytil got sidelined. So I'm looking it from first time in years they have a legit top scoring line with chemistry. You just don't throw that away. Every one on that Panarin line is better because they play with each other.

I think you got that the other way around. It's Panarin that improves them not the other way around.

i mean in his defense, TOR fans keep wanting to trade him to team anywhere....

you really over value Lafrenière and there is 0 chance the penguins would move that 1st round pick at this point.

I wouldn’t do it in general but I believe this team that I built can win the cup, so I would be willing to give up a lottery pick to win 1 last cup with 87/71.

Maybe not with that goaltending. But it looks like a very strong skater group.

yes but you won't get marner for that and Kane is 36 next year coming off hip surgery. He's not the old Kane and I wouldn't sign him for that. He might end up like Hall. 1 good year after surgery and then nothing but decline and LTIR.

on top of it that 3rd pairing gets destroyed. They need guys who can PK in that 3rd pairing especially the 3RD.
add in the fact that it's a 20 person roster, which they can't do realistically.. and it's not even possible.
