Description
Hire Craig Berube; It only took Berube half of a season to turn the Blues around and Keefe is 5 years in and hasn't been able to figure it out. Leafs just need a coach that knows what it takes to win in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Marner should be moved this offseason; 8 years and 1 second round appearance. This team has been mismanaged so horribly. Like at what point do you realise that changes have to made. Brad loves big boys, Roy is a big boy, Thedore is a legit #1 defenseman and to go along with it probably a first. Marner and Lily, love ya but get off my team.

Dubas you can have Timmins, we don't need him. It really pains me to trade Jarnkrok, it isn't his fault but this team is heading in a different direction and he won't be part of it.

Not many options in net but Gus is a good goalie, that had an off year, on a cheap contract and on the trading block, sounds good to me. And the asking price won't be very high because of him and the team haven't a ****ty year.

Draft at pick 30? **** that let's go draft a 6'5 RW and a 6'7 Centre to go along with our original first round pick of 1 6'5 RIGHT HANDED D-MAN. The 2024 Draft is Brad's dream and might as well capitalise on it.

Please keep Roby because if you let him go he is for sure going to turn into a 30-40 goal scorer. This year playing 11 minutes a night had 15 goals in 52 games with hardly any time on the PP. Keep Dewy around too because maybe heading into next season the PK can figure it out. 95% chance Logan Brown wouldn't play a game but why not. He is 6'6 and a former first round pick you never know.

Max should be a priority for Brad because you can tell he really loves being a Leaf. Give Murray a shot just to test it out. Demelo or Tanev, either one is good to pair with Rielly to be a the shutdown guy, both hometown boys but if I had to choose one it would be Demelo because he is quite a bit younger. Kiefer Sherwood and Sammy Blais to bring more physicality to the bottom 6. Friedman as a cheap 8th defensman and right from the 6ix. Heinen probably resigns with Bruins but I don't care he would be a nice addition, 17 goals this year and pretty solid all around guy and kind of fits alright on the top line. Kulikov would be a great 7th defenseman and also extremely physical. Sean Walker would make this defence nothing less than perfect (at leafs standards) He is also from Ontario so obviously is going to sign the Leafs.

Big changes need to happen or else this team is finished.

I think you have the right thought and ideas but i feel like our offence got a lot worse rather then better. I like the marner deal, but maybe with some of the FA money probably prioritizing forwards makes more sense. Gusty is a gamble but feel like hed fit with them

I understand what you’re saying but we still have Matthews and Nylander who were both top 10 this season. Heinen playing top line has 20 goal potential, Tavares you can guarantee another 65 point season, Knies has played very recently probably 20 goals next year. Sherwood and Roy have a combined 77 points this season and we’d get a full year of McMann. Dewar and Kampf are the main defensive options but if Robertson gets PP time he could be a pretty good goal scorer. Also that defence will actually be able to score so I think offence will be relatively the same. Though I do agree losing him is tough because Marner obviously brings a lot of the leafs offence.

I thought so, I have heard the needs they have wanted to fill and he is that. And now that you say that what would you be willing to pay for him?

i think you could put anyone with matthews and have 20 goal potential. i do like roy a lot and sherwood is a good bottom 6 guy, i think maybe look for an upgrade over heinen by spending a bit less $ on the defence and the teams looking solid. pretty good mock offseason ill give u that. when i do them people come for my head lmao

That’s fair definitely could find an upgrade over Heinen but who Bert? Mantha? Henrique? I just think because this has always been the case where we have a very good offensive team but never build up the defence. But I do agree that probably could put more money towards a forward. Well depending on the price would someone like Joshua at maybe 3.5 approve to you as an upgrade because that could be an option.

I have to wonder what kind of incentive does Vegas, a team that's potentially winning their second cup in a row this year, have in trading one of their key D-man at a very reasonable pricepoint to a player whose greatness weakness by far is his playoff performance, and who is considering what he has achieved in his career somewhat overpaid?

Knights will lose Marchesaualt and one of Mantha or Stephenson so you get Marner with retntention for a year and give up a d-man who will get 8 mill about. So I think because of the offensive they are going to lose I think it makes some sense or they keep their team which is probably more likely

joshua would honestly be pretty good, reminds me of hyman when he played w matthews and willy and maybe another current mcmann type player. you need guys like that to win games and playoff series

Solving the issue of losing Marchessault/Mantha/Stephenson by trading Theodore, who is harder to replace, to an asset that's costing TWICE as much as Theodore does for the final year, just seems very counterintuitive to me.

Toronto is imo a great example of what happens to a team whose is in terms of payroll very constrained due to having several players costing almost $9M or more. Acquisition of Marner would mean that Vegas is investing almost half of their cap to Marner, Eichel, Stone and Pietrangelo - and considering they won the cup by having immense depth, this just further increases the counterintuitiveness to me.

Vegas has a few defensive pieces ready to take the next step (whitecloud, hague) which wont be as good as theodore but they can allow for it to happen and go out and get an 100 point scorer (with some salary retained for one year atleast) to replace some of the missing points in marchy and everyone. he’d fit in well with stone and eichel and without immense pressure cuz theyve already won a cup unlike Toronto he’d absolutely shine come playoff time just book it

I wouldn't bank on that. No one is denying Marner's a great player, but he has had one weakness throughout his entire career and it's showing up when it truly matters.

Add that to the fact you'd be moving two of the most consistent playoff performers you have (Marchessault and Theodore) to a player like that and I think overall as a team Vegas is taking an L here.
