I believe the Dav dump to Chi would cost the 3rd and FC going back. Or MTL 2nd with the 4th going back.

Sabres are not doing that, Rochester is already crowded with talent

Hawks decline. Dvorak costs a 2nd to move to Chicago. And that's assuming they would take him at all at this point.

Downgrade from Yakemchuk to Jiricek + you get Farrell + 2nd. Even if Rochester is crowded with talent package those pieces for better talent that can give the team a push to the playoffs

Dvorak isn't that far in the negative value imo, he's still a capable third line centre who I think just needs a change of scenery - he never worked in MTL. Even just for one year, a 3rd to take on 4.45M is fine, and then you can flip him at 50% for positive value if he shows up and plays well

Downgrade for a small forward that they don't need. Only way the sabres trade the pick at this point is in a package for a young player that helps now.

Farrell, I dont know the guy, but he definately is not so great prospect, wont sniff NHL roster for Sabres, pipeline is full of skill, and small forward is nothing Sabres are looking for.

$4.5m cap hit, but $5.75m in actual salary for next season. And the days of the Hawks taking on bad contracts for mid round picks is likely over. Hawks aren't tanking any more. Some other team might take Dvorak for a 3rd. Can pretty much guarantee it won't be the Hawks.

"Hawks aren't tanking any more" your roster contains one superstar and one first pairing defenseman

The Hawks GM has stated phase 2 of the rebuild is starting. They are looking to improve the roster and their results. So yeah, the tank is over.
