Gibson isn’t waving for Toronto just like he said publicly and Verbeek is not trading a top 5 pick

‘24 ANA 1st - Not available, certainly not for a pending UFA
Zegras - Not available, and I’d keep him at $5.7M over Marner at $12M any day (not saying Z is better, but Z + $6M is unquestionably better)
Gibson - Irrelevant. Not waiving for TOR

Marner isn’t worth any piece of ANA’s core, especially as a UFA that doesn’t fit Verbeek’s mold who wants $12M+. If you think there’s a trade that doesn’t include any of Leo, McT, Zegras, Gauthier, Mintyukov, Zellweger, or the ‘24 ANA first, all ears. But I think someone else will give up more for him than ANA.

Also, outside of those guys, Gibby, Fowler, and Gudas are all well known to not want to play for TOR and have the trade protection to veto it. You’re down to the likes of Vatrano, Strome, Lacombe, and the EDM ‘24 1st

The hell it is...

The Ducks would be giving up a top offensive weapon as well as a guaranteed top 5 pick for a couple decent prospects and a guy who likely doesn't sign an extension because Anaheim isn't going to blow a massive amount of cap space on one guy. Not to mention what has been stated before about Gibson having no interest in playing in Toronto. In all honesty, it's probably a pretty terrible trade for both sides.
