Rumors are going around that Nick Robertson is seeking a trade out of Toronto. I see a team like Montreal going after him. Like they did with Nick Dach and Alex Newhook in the last couple seasons, they acquire a player with offensive upside that could help them in the future. And in return, I targeted one of their defensemen in Jayden Struble. They have too many players on the blue line and can afford to trade one of them. Jayden Struble is a defensemen that can give good body checks and move the puck well for his size. A cheaper replacement for Ilya Lyubushkin and have similar play styles.

I decided to move Timothy Liljegren out of the team. Too soft and doesn't step his game up when it's the most important times. I traded his rights, along with Calle Jarnkrok for Nic Dowd and a 3rd pick (could be any pick I don't really care). Dowd comes in to play on the PK and is a good player in the faceoff circle.

Decided to trade David Kampf for cap relief. Any team that would want him can get him.

Now the UFA's, I decided to rebuild the D-line. I gave big money contracts to Matt Roy and Brett Pesce to bolster the blue line and give some much needed stability on the back end.

In the crease, I give the reigns to Joseph Woll and Chris Dreidger. Dreidger performed well in 2022-23 before tearing his ACL in the World Championships. Give him a one year, prove yourself contract can help out the team and also a good mentor for Woll
