Stamkos has grown into a amazing leader. If you let him walk with no real option for replacement (Hedman on his final year?) this team loses more than just a 40goal scorer.

He's the only one scoring in the playoffs too.

The premise of No Stammer in Tampa is emotionally crushing even to me who isn't particularly a fan of the Lightning. They'll figure something out. He's given soo much to that organization.

I don’t see Tampa just giving Jeannot away but if I was Davidson I would definitely do this, I think Jeannot provides an element that the team is sorely lacking.

And I disagree w/ Snowhawk. Hawks decline. They aren't gifting Tampa Bay $4,6m in cap space for free. And Jeannot's only value at the TDL will be if the Hawks retain half on him. Besides, it's highly unlikely GM JBB just gives Jeannot away. Even if he is a constant reminder of one of the worst trades in Lightning history.

Jeannot is one guy I believe we have disagreed on in the past and will probably continue to do so moving forward which is ok.

I just believe if someone is willing to give you a former 20 goal scorer who is willing the punch the face of anyone who takes a run at Bedard, you have to be all over that.

That 20 goal season was a complete one off. I night be wrong, but I think Jeannot's shooting percentage that season was like 25%. Again, I watch almost every Tampa Bay game. The player he's been since joining Tampa Bay is a somewhat more offensive version of Reese Johnson, a physical player who hits everything near him and will drop the gloves (same as Reese). Jeannot will generate more points than Reese, but he isn't as good defensively and he doesn't kill penalties. Sorry, but a somewhat better version of Reese Johnson just isn't getting me excited.
