Does anyone think Holl and Copp would have non playoff teams on their trade list?
A 20 man roster, totally impractical.

Pass on Husso, too many goalies for SJ. And yeah add a very high pick to Copp. He hasn't had a good season on that contract and there's still 3 more years at a high cap hit.

Not trading Copp. People on here don't understand his value.

The dude isn't even a Wings fan, There's no freaking way either Copp or Husso waive for the worst team in the NHL. Copp is a Detroit boy and he's not waiving for Northern California.

I wont disagree with these players having value, the issue is both players value is not close to what their cap hit is. So yes, if you wanted to trade them to the sharks, the sharks would ask for some pics in return to take on the cap!

Copp has more value to the team than people think based on his stats. If he had the o-zone starts he did with Winnipeg and New York, not many would blink at acquiring him. The funny thing is, if you look at his stats, he didn't even have a down year offensively, he is actually on par with his normal production. The difference is this year he has a career high percentage starting in the defensive zone. So the fact is, he is matching his normal point production while getting less offensive zone time. Way more valuable to the red Wings than people want to admit, they just look at point totals on here and call him a cap dump. Copp will be traded or bought out. He is very valuable to this team.
To San Jose, you can say he would need sweeteners but in all reality if Mike Grier had the chance to add a player like him, he should jump at it.

Why though? Both these players add a lot of salary but do they make this a playoff team? Do they add to ticket sales?
Like I said I’m not arguing both have value, the issue is they don’t have that much value to the sharks unless a couple higher picks are attached! This off-season sharks should be looking for cap dumps with 1-2 years left on their deals that can net them some draft picks for taking them on
