As a Leafs fan I would personally pass.

I really like Robertson. Lily is a solid #4 or #5. Kampf is a solid 12-14 minute a night defensive C.

Half cap Jensen is nice and both those picks are nice, but I personally wouldn't do it.

I would want a late 1st for Robertson and I would want a late 1st for Lily. Otherwise I would keep them. (I am not saying any team pays this though. I just wouldn't move them unless that was the case).

Only reason we made playoffs is bc 3 other teams choked down the stretch. In a normal year this team is picking in the top 10. But yeah it’s great asset management to move an overachieving asset for max value.

Can’t see a team offering a 1st for either. I also see Leafs moving on from both if they don’t take a sizable step forward this playoffs. I imagine they try to use that cap space for Tanev and better depth players.

Leafs have the room for a guy like Tanev without trading anyone. But I agree with you I don't see anyone paying a 1st for Robertson. And very unlikely for Lily also. Robertson is all heart. Kid never stops working. He is a must keep in my mind. Lily is less important BUT the Leafs are already thin on right shot RD, so I would be hesitant. I may consider 2023 2nd + half cap Jensen for Lily. But I would still probably opt towards not doing it.

only "asset management" they should be concerned about next year is making the playoffs again and these moves make the team significantly worse than the current version.

Yes bc the playoffs are going extremely well this year? Sometimes you gotta be smart enough to know when to retool. Trying to pound the square block into the circle hole is a terrible way to live.

Playoffs are going great because I'm enjoying watching them and have the chance to go to maybe Ovi's last ever home playoff game! Wanting your team to purposely get worse because it's more "optimal" is a terrible way to live. Moneyball is the worst thing to ever happen to sports man
