Détails additionnels:
Kings move out two RFAs to move up from #21 to #10 in draft. According to the “PuckPedia Perri Pick Value Calculator” the delta between those two picks is equivalent to #23 overall pick (in other words, Turcotte + Lee are being priced as equal to #23 pick).

Détails additionnels:
Montreal is deep with left-handed dmen (Matheson, Guhle, Hutson, Harris, Strubble, Xhekaj) and don’t have the spots to play all of them. Perhaps instead of moving out Harris and Strubble for little return, they opt to move Guhle for big return in Holtz, and move up from #27 to #21 in draft (equal to about mid-2nd round pick).

Presumably the fact that Holtz would be somwhere around 3-4 million dollars cheaper and 25 instead of 36 when Montreal is trying to compete again.

the main problem is that Holtz proved nothing and Doesn't seem to be in the good grace of the club, while Ghule showed top minutes and a great shutdown D at a young age. Sure, if Holtz hits his ceiling the value is there, but if not it doesn't for what he showed.

Holtz for Guhle is a fair swap. I am adding to that.

Ghule for Mercer is a fair trade, not for Holtz IMO.

Harris for Holtz is a fair trade.

He was scoring in his minutes, but wasn’t getting much ice time. Devils have too many skilled wingers and not enough grinders, forecheckers, identity guys. So Holtz gets miscast as 4th liner. He will be fine. Am guessing his career will end up a little like Jason Zucker’s at the end of the day.

We can get so many better options than Holtz. If we want young guys, we could get Hayton or Reichel without costing us Guhle. If we want 5v5 production, we can just trade a fifth for Foegele.

When you change a coach, you want changes. I can’t really believe the new coach refuses to make tge change every fan wanted just because he didn’t like the player.

There are a lot of players better than Gallagher on our roster. Apart from the guys you named, Dach, Roy, Evans and Armia are better.

That still leaves with the same question: Why would we ever trade a top 4 D for a third liner? Why not just trade a Newhook package for him, since it’s his value

Well for Holtz specifically NJD would not be willing to take a Newhook type package unless we could do something similar to what Colorado did flipping the pick for a more win now piece like Colton.

I cannot speak on the availability of other guys like Reichel or Hayton (but i don’t Utah and Chicago would be trying to move their youth)

Again, I 100% agree that MTL shouldn’t trade Guhle.

But if they did decide that they wanted to roll with Struble Harris Xhekaj Hutson and Matheson on the left and move the guy with the most trade value in Guhle, NJD imo should/would offer Holtz+2025 1st for Guhle+2025 2nd/3rd (conditional based on where the 2025 pick lies)

"20p player Holtz to waiver is coming soon"

What is the point of those arguments ?

Except there is a very real chance that Harris actually hits waivers next year.

Guhle, Matheson, Hutson, Struble, Xhekaj, Reinbacher, Mailloux, Barron, Savard, Kovacevic.

Who said the Devils wouldn’t want a Newhook package. Nobody would have guessed the Avs would have wanted that package for Newhook. If the devils can acquire a first and second for Newhook, then trade those assets for Chychrun or another great D, nobody in Newark would complain.

A lot of Yotes fans saw Hayton gone for around a second, and for Reichel, we never know about the Hawks

As for the LD problem, Guhle and Harris can play RD. If Hutson performs at TC, Struble will be send down, vice-versa. We will have 8 nhl D, wich is well enough to have a roster while starting to look at the market for Matheson and Harris

Only way you would get us to trade Guhle is with Mercer +

Yeah there would have to be a package that can improve us now. But usually the example of the young guy traded like that is when he’s hitting RFA. Holtz is still an ELC so I’d expect him (and this applies to Guhle to) to stay put for at least 1 more year.

Again, if we can turn Holtz+Bahl into for example Marcus Pettersson+Colton, you’d have me sold in a heartbeat.

You said Winnipeg 1st+2nd+3rd for Holtz? Or just 1st+2nd

If we could do Winnipeg 1st+3rd for Pettersson I’d be happy

And then like Bahl+2nd for Colton.

    Not something I’ve thought about.

Maybe Holtz for Winnipeg 1st+3rd+Evans assuming we can make those other deals

Colton didn’t have a great season so you would get him for cheaper than what they paid. Only Bahl would be enough.

The third is a minor asset in any deal including a first so it’s not really important if we add one or not
