Philadelphia has zero interest in getting Tavares. The majority of our cap will be spend on our 5-6 prospect defensemen (Provorov-Ghost-Morin-Myers-Sanheim-Hagg). Wayne Simmonds is going to be receiving a pay raise, and we have to be sure to be able to pay Carter Hart/Felix Sanstrom, Nolan Patrick and Oskar Lindblom.

Not IMO, any trade involving Giroux would require salary coming back, and Tavares will get more than G

Maybe it's just me, but I think that you could sell Giroux below market value to another team who lost out on Tavares, pay Tavares 10-10.5m, and still come out ahead.
Let's put it this way -- if you were a superstar on a team that had a horrible arena, a team that let a ton of good players walk (including your wingman), a team that seems destined to hover around mediocrity for a while, would you want to leave? Yes you would.
