Hmm. Okay, so this is what I would change.

The line combinations are not good imo, and would be changed, but I doubt this is the main purpose with this post.

I would get rid of Zucker completely, same as Foegele, and replace them with Henrique, and a better top 6 forward. If we cannot get Henrique, we can trade for a 3c, and move McLeod to Draisaitl’s wing. Hamblin should not be up, instead he could be replaced with Carrick, Gagner, Brown etc. Ceci, and Kulak should without a doubt be getting traded, with Broberg getting full NHL ice time. You are over the cap, so I would buyout Campbell as well, and get a legitimate top 4 RHD.

I would want the team to look like something like this:

Holloway-Henrique/BLANK-Kane
Janmark-Carrick-Ryan/Gagner/Lavoie

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-BLANK

The BLANKS would be what you would fill, as those are our biggest holes. So to some it up.. trade Kulak, and Ceci, buyout Campbell, do the resigns, get a top 6 forward, and top 4 RHD, and possibly a 3c if Henrique does not come back.

So a few issues here. You've failed to include the 3+ million in cap penalties we have next year from Connor Brown's and Perry's contract bonuses. But that's okay because you also forgot to buyout Jack Campbell, there's almost no chance they don't buy him out since it's such a reasonable buyout. You also got to figure Desharnais gets at least what Benoit got in Toronto (probably more).

Zucker is an extremely unlikely candidate to sign in Edmonton (almost no American free agents sign in edmonton). Some far more likely winger candidates to sign would be Debrusk, Bertuzzi, Lafferty, Amadio, or maybe Toffoli.
